ENGINEERING

· Mining Services for the coal industry include mine permitting and

design, reserve modeling, seal construction oversight, and mineral

property evaluation. Our specialties lie in mining engineering

issues such as regulatory compliance, mine planning, ventilation

and roof support designs, refuse storage facilities, coal waste

impoundments, and seal design.

· Civil Highly experienced in sedimentology, construction inspection and management, mapping, soil mechanics, slope stability analyzation, hydraulic design, modeling, and analysis.

· Environmental Experienced in stream restoration, wetland restoration, diversion ditch design; wetland management; refuse impoundment design including stability, seepage analysis, and breakthrough considerations; and air and soil sampling. Experienced in performance of Underground Storage Tank removal oversight, reporting, and investigating.

· Geotechnical We provide subsidence prediction and remediation; foundation investigations on dams, mines, and impoundments; pillar sizing and design; groundwater investigations; stability analysis of fills and road cuts; rock mechanics and reinforcement; roof control; GIS mapping; reserve analysis; and geologic modeling.

ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENTS

We are skilled in assessing risks and then planning and implement a tailor-made loss avoidance or mitigation program that will reduce client exposure to risks – and the steep costs associated with them – in a wide variety of industrial, environmental and credit-related fields. This largely comes into play in Phase I, II, and III assessments as well as reclamation liability assessments for insurance and banking agencies.

STREAM CONSULTING

This branch specializes in watershed hydrology, management, modeling, drainage control, soil and groundwater chemistry and impoundment design and inspection, water sampling, baseline monitoring, US Army Corps of Engineers 404 and 401 water quality permits, stream assessment, KPDES permitting, NPDES discharge permits, fish and macroinvertebrate sampling, and stream mitigation planning and oversight.

REMEDIATION

We are familiar with the operation, development, and maintenance of various remediation systems including dual phase extraction, air-sparge/soil vapor extraction, bioremediation, groundwater recovery, and programmable automated skimmer.

MANAGEMENT CONSULTING

We perform business valuations, productivity improvements, environmental compliance, project risk analysis, maximization of product quality, evaluation and acquisition of major assets, mineral resource valuations, facility and equipment appraisals, financial modeling, restructuring planning, resource planning and optimization, customized un-off planning, asset disposal and crisis management, property and mineral tax assessment, and property sales and appraisals.

Services include incremental bonding and release analysis, reclamation liability studies, reclamation bond expertise, and reclamation management and oversight

CLAIMS MANAGEMENT

We provide highly customized claims management services to the insurance and financial industries. We are especially experienced in developing run-off plans. Claims management services include due diligence, feasibility studies, market analysis which are focused on quality and based on individual needs and objectives.
